Louis R. Lapow, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Louis R. Lapow is a native of New Jersey where he graduated from Rutgers University in 1968. He then spent the next six years in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended podiatric medical college and completed his post graduate training in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Lapow moved to Milwaukee in 1974 and began his practice at his current S. 27th Street location. During his 31 years of practice in Milwaukee Dr. Lapow has become a leading educator in the field of podiatric medicine and surgery. He established one of the first podiatric residency training programs in Wisconsin in 1977 and continues to be the Director of that program located at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He has helped train dozens of podiatrists who now practice in every area of the country including several in Wisconsin. He has been chosen by his peers to lead them as Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He has also been the Chairman of the Section of Podiatry at both St. Francis Hospital and West Allis Memorial Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He routinely lectures on a variety of subjects pertaining to disorders of the foot and ankle.
